Hakyol ("the App") is an Islamic lifestyle and navigation companion — prayer times, qibla direction, mosque navigation, Qur'an reading, and a dhikr counter. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, why, and where it goes.
Hakyol does not require an account, does not run analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not operate its own servers that store your personal data. The App does use your device location to power its core features, and it queries a small number of third-party APIs to do so — each is listed below with exactly what is sent and why.
The App requests "When In Use" location access. It is used to:
Location is never collected in the background — it is only read while the App is open and a location-dependent screen is active. It is not stored on any server we operate.
To provide the features above, the App sends limited data directly from your device to the following services. We do not operate a backend that this data passes through first — these are direct, on-device API calls.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it handles the data it receives; we encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for details on its handling of location and search queries.
Prayer time reminders are scheduled locally on your device using iOS's notification system. No notification data is sent to or generated by any server — the App calculates the times and schedules them on-device.
Your app settings, Hatim (Qur'an completion) progress, dhikr counts, and theme preference are stored locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted anywhere and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App.
If you add the Hakyol widget to your Home Screen, prayer time data is shared between the App and the widget using Apple's App Group storage — a private, on-device mechanism. This data never leaves your device.
Hakyol offers an optional Premium subscription (auto-renewing monthly, auto-renewing annual, or a one-time lifetime purchase) that unlocks the full Qur'an library, live dynamic qibla during navigation, mosque-arrival alerts, and an ad-free experience. Core features — prayer times, static qibla, basic navigation, the first three chapters of the Qur'an, dhikr counter, and the Home Screen widget — remain free without a subscription.
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store's In-App Purchase system; Hakyol never receives or stores your payment card details. Purchase and entitlement status (i.e. whether your subscription is active) is managed through RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-specific user identifier and your purchase/transaction data from Apple in order to verify your entitlement across devices — it does not receive your name, email, or payment details. A free trial period may be offered on the annual plan; it is managed entirely through your Apple ID subscription settings, where you can also cancel at any time.
The App does not integrate any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Since the App does not maintain server-side accounts or profiles, most data control happens directly on your device: you can disable location or notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings, and uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
